Objectives: |
The Membership Committee will diligently strive to increase the participating body of the American Society of Victimology (ASV) by expanding its membership to individuals working in the area of, associated with, having a strong interest in, or desiring to learn more about the field of Victimology and/or improving the delivery of victim services. |

Tasks: |
The Membership Committee will periodically review and revise the membership application. It will make available (generic) letters of membership for mailing to individuals and organizations with similar interest and direction. The committee will research and reach out to colleges and universities currently educating and training students in the field of Victimology or a connecting field of study. It will serve as an information resource for institutions looking at Victimology as a future field of study. The committee will be cognizant of individuals who have pioneered Victimology research and those conducting groundbreaking research. And, this committee must stay alert and innovative for new membership avenues. |

Committee Makeup: |
This committee shall consist
of at least three and no more than five members of ASV in good standing,
one of whom shall be the Treasurer who shall serve as Chair
of the committee. |

Levels of delegation: |
The Membership Committee will report to the Board of Directors for any necessary and advisable changes to membership criteria,
the membership application, or other factors affecting member participation in this organization. |

Accountability: |
The Membership Committee reports to the ASV Board of Directors and to the ASV membership as required. |
